Ready to Evacuate? Where Will You Go

Volunteers needed
Special Needs Application

By volunteering to help, you and your family can go to   a safe place.....one of Brevard County's Special Needs Shelters.

Approximately 23% of the population of Brevard County is over the age of 60, many of who need medical assistance on a regular basis.  In the event of an evacuation, this Special Needs population can go to one of Brevard County's Special Needs Shelter.

The Office of Emergency Management and the Brevard County Health Department are seeking VOLUNTEERS ! BOTH MEDICAL AND non-MEDICAL persons are needed.

How you can help

*Registration/location assignment
*Unloading busses and cars
*Setting up cots
*Food preparation/distribution
*Provide medical care to patients
* Retrieve supplies as needed for medical personnel/patients
* Attending to wants of 'nature'
* Maintaining good morale
Once the evacuation order is lifted, volunteers will help sign-out evacuees, packing belongings, and assisitng them into transportation vehicles.

Shelter Locations

Most of our special needs shelters are located in schools for regions of the county: Titusville, Rockledge, Melbourne, and Palm Bay. Some shelters are supported by our local hospitals
