800 MHz User Group Public Safety Radio System
The 800 MHz User Group Public Safety Radio System is comprised of all the users of the system. This page will post information that is useful and sometimes critical for user action and information. Brevard County is going through a rebanding project and various updates to the schedules will be posted here for your convenience. Additionally we will provide information on the status of the network and future improvements as they are known and funding becomes available. If you are having maintenance and or service issues with the network, we have designed a "radio user complaint" form for your use. See the appropriate link below. Our intent is to make sure we are aware of your problems, our contractor is aware, and we are taking a coordinated approach toward solving these problems. Questions about the System can be addressed to your agency Point of Contact. For more information, contact either Lisa Morgan 637-3811 or email Lisa OR Eric Conklin 637-3810 or email Eric at Brevard County Emergency Management 637-6670. REMEMBER TO USE THE CSD Change Forms for any changes to the database.
We prefer that your agency email these changes rather than fax or hand deliver them so we can email you back a file copy once the revisions are complete. IMPORTANT HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE BREVARD USERS' MEETINGS:
FYI: The Warranty clock starts running on the warranties for the new equipment received as Rebanding replacements the date the equipment leaves M/A COM's factory. Please keep this in mind for maintenance and service on your agency's new equipment.
Additional Reminders for our Users available on the attached Word document
Please don't forget to submit the CSD Change Forms! Agencies are also reminded to use the CSD Change Form (see above for the link) found on this web site or request a WORD version to email to the 800 MHz Radio Group Admin all the changes to your database records in the CSD. No one at CII nor are the Rebanding Techs providing any information on the radio exchanges, so each agency is required to provide it in order for their CSD database records to be properly updated.
The Generic LID is an LID that every previously designated non working radio belonging to any Brevard agency will be programmed with during the Rebanding period so that the CII technicians can check the functionality of the radios after they have programmed them. It will NOT be assigned to any agency NOR will it ever be entered into the CSD database as belonging to a specific radio. The LID will be disabled once the deadline of August 4 is reached so NO radio with this particular LID will be considered a working radio. In order for the radio to be a working radio, it will have to be reprogrammed (at the agency's expense) to a valid, working LID. So remember - if your agency needs new LIDS or entries added to the CSD database, you must coordinate this in advance of having the Rebanding Team program the new radio equipment for you. Otherwise, CII has only options: 1) Give the new radio the universal LID which will not permit the radio to be used in the field, OR 2) Copy the exact radio profile from the 'to be exchanged' old radio into the 'new' radio using the same LID. PLEASE DO NOT CREATE DUPLICATE WORKING LIDS that your agency may have to pay to correct when such problems can be so easily avoided. Latest news on Rebanding Mobile Re-installations: Effective June 5, 2008, the Rebanding Teams are working various locations thru prescheduled arrangements set up initially by Spencer Robbins/CII.
